They've got 'em!

Do you follow Creative Corner on Broadway on facebook? They're always posting fun stuff.
This week I was thrilled to learn they have SMASH books!
I'm a fan of the SMASH book.
Never heard of one?  I'll do my best to explain.
It's basically a journal with fun pages and a loop that holds a pen/glue combo.  The idea is to "smash" all your random bits of paper memories into the book with the glue and then doodle and journal with the pen.  So fun!!!
Anyway, Creative Corner on Broadway now has mini SMASH books.  I've never seen a mini, but I'm heading down there to check them out.  After all, most things are cuter in miniature...

Girls' Night Out

Last Thursday was Girls' Night Out in Downtown Siloam Springs.
And if you didn't attend, you MISSED OUT!
I was there for a bit, but there were things I missed out on as well.
So...heads up.  Pay attention to when the next Girls' Night Out takes place and ATTEND!

Here are a few of the things I missed...and thanks to facebook, I know what I missed.

mine.
It's a customized bath and body line made just for you!  mine. was demonstrating their products at Ehrlich Motorwerks.
Siloam Flowers and Gifts had cheese!  I love cheese.  I'm sad I missed the cheese.
And Creative Corner on Broadway had door prizes.  I happen to enjoy winning free things.
Bummer for me!
I'm paying attention to when the next event takes place.

Ending on a happy note...I did take a surrey ride at Dogwood Junction.  Stay tuned for pictures.

National Scrapbook Day

Saturday being a Farmer's Market morning, we headed Downtown.  As we headed toward the park, we couldn't help but notice this sign outside of Creative Corner on Broadway.  Owner Julie invited us in to see what was going on.
It turns out Saturday was National Scrapbook Day!
These ladies had scrapped into the wee hours of Friday night and showed up bright and early again on Saturday morning to finish their projects.  They didn't even take time to get dressed--yep, they're dedicated scrapbookers--they scrapped in their jammies.  :-)
And speaking of dedication...
I'm sure your mother is dedicated.
Hint, hint...
Have you figured out a way to appreciate Mom on Mother's Day?
It's just a few days away!  Sunday, May 13th is the day.

If you haven't thought of a gift for mom as of yet, stop in at Creative Corner on Broadway.  Julie will be more than happy to help you put together a little something.

Camera Class

The other day while I was snooping around on facebook, I found something else that looked pretty neat.

It seems Creative Corner on Broadway held a camera class.  Here's a picture of the participants taking their pictures.

I'm not sure if Creative Corner on Broadway is having another camera class in the near future, but I think I'd better head down there to check it out.  You might want to stop by, too.  I've heard there is all kinds of fun holiday items to make your scrapbook (or crafting) extra festive.

Weekend Plans

I don't know about you, but after a few days of beautiful weather it's nice to have a little rain!  Having been outside most of the week, it's nice to think of a few days inside catching up on crafts and sipping tea.  Fortunately both of those things can be done Downtown this weekend.

Crafting:
*Creative Corner on Broadway has a Saturday Scrap Night.  (By the way...Julie has new graduation themed papers.  Perfect for scrapbooking pictures of your graduate.)
*Sager Creek Quilts and Yarnworks has a Saturday class titled: Color and Fabric Selection.  It's being taught by published author Donna Thomas.

Tea Sipping:
*Cafe on Broadway is always a good place for a cup of tea followed by a bowl of warm soup.
*Pour Jon's also has quite the selection of tea and typically has live music playing on the weekends.

So...get out and enjoy some rainy-day activities this weekend!  If crafting and tea sipping don't happen to be your idea of a good time, there's always eating, shopping, and reading.  Regardless of what you choose...
I'll see you Downtown!

Mother's Day Shopping

Do you still happen to have a little Mother's Day shopping left to do?
Are you running out of time?
Thanks to Downtown, you don't have to panic.
We've got you covered.
Here are a few shopping suggestions:

Perhaps the mom in your life would like something vintage...
...or something decorative...
...or a frame with your picture in it...
...maybe a book or magazine is more her style...
...flowers are a wonderful option...
...maybe the mom in your life would like to have a much deserved free-day to do nothing but craft with pretty paper...
...perhaps a nice piece of art...
...or maybe she'd simply like to have someone else take over kitchen duties for the day--Farmer's Market is open today.  Just like mom always says, "Eat your veggies!?
There's all kinds of things Downtown just waiting for you!
I'll see you Downtown!

Creative Corner on Broadway

Earlier this week, I stopped in for a chat with Julie at Creative Corner on Broadway.
What a place!
They are open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10am-5pm.
Julie has all kinds of scrapbooking and paper-crafting supplies and tools.
The ribbon rack was calling my name...
And this piece of paper?  As soon as I have a minute without my boys, I'm headed down to make it my own!
But I saved the best for last!
Julie says anyone is welcome to stop by and crop for free anytime during business hours.
They are ready for you!  Just behind the Creative Dept door is a spot set up for just for you and all your creative expressions.
Along with the crop-anytime option, Creative Corner on Broadway will also host organized cropping events.  Julie will have sign-up sheets at the shop and spots will be filled on a first-come basis.  A good way to find out more information about upcoming crops is to find and friend Creative Corner on Broadway on Facebook.  In the meantime, here are a few dates for your calendar:

May 6th
Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting at 10am
Stop by for snacks, door prizes, and make & takes

May 8th
Open late for Second Saturday Festivities
There will also be a crop going on that night--stop by the shop for more information and to sign up

Thanks for visiting with me,  Julie, and welcome to the neighborhood!
