Umbrellas

My two children like to "borrow" my camera. Often I find crazy shots of random things, but other times I find some pretty neat pictures.

Here's what I found this morning as I emptied my camera's memory card:

My 5-year-old had taken some pictures of the Cafe on Broadway's umbrellas.  I think he did a pretty good job!  It's always fun to see the world through a child's eyes.

Glimpses of Fall

I think fall might almost be here!
The other day we headed Downtown to see if there were any signs of autumn being just around the corner.

Here's what we found:
Slightly yellow leaves
Faint shades of orange leaves
Paper leaves in the windows at Books on Broadway
Local Flair Gallery has a painting on display full of fall-ish color
I think it's safe to say fall is here!

KLRC

A few weeks back, KLRC packed up their SUV and moved Downtown!
We're so glad they're here.
They're glad to be in the neighborhood as well.  To celebrate they're throwing a party, and you're invited!

The studios will be open from 2-4pm this Sunday afternoon (September 18th).  Come by and maybe you'll win a prize.  All the details be found here.
Remember to stick around after the open house; there's going to be a concert in the park!

PS: The Cafe on Broadway will be open during KLRC's Open House.  Coffee and music--the perfect way to spend a fall afternoon!

Pie

It's fall, and the Farmer's Market is still going strong!
This week we picked up some apple cake, honey, zucchini, apples, and tomatoes.
And then I made this:
YUM!

Head to the Farmer's Market and get some apples to make pie celebrating fall.

A Chill in the Air

This morning was chilly!
Perhaps fall is almost here?
My day started on the early side of things, and the hints of autumn in the air had me craving hot drinks!

I'm heading to The Cafe on Broadway tonight for a cup of something hot and a catch-up chat with a friend...
...and then to Pour Jon's in the morning for another mug of something yummy.
How nice to have two great places to meet friends and welcome fall!

I'll see you Downtown!
